Really enjoying Summoning's new album, "With Doom We Come". Really epic.
As a music nerd who likes to look up tons of info about bands, I wish more bands would name themselves with an eye to Googleability. Today's case in point: a band named Porn. Am I putting that into a search engine? Nope.

Self-care (cont): There is this really ugly pattern going on of:
1. People who work with mental health developing strategies such as "self-care" and "mindfulness" to help us deal with compulsive or obsessive behavior.
2. Commercialism appropriating the fuck out of that into productivity or lifestyle marketing.
3. A horde of think-pieces talking about why those practices are bullshit, without dealing with their original context.
Spent some time this afternoon playing Torment: Tides of Numenera. I love this game, but I am really terrible at combat in it.

Things to be thankful for: a completely accidental phone call from a dear friend. We only got to talk for 2 minutes, but it was nice to hear from her.
Drinking cocoa peppermint matcha tea. Tastes delicious, looks an alarming shade of army green.

I was on a conference call and folks kept talking over me. I eventually decided my phone audio wasn't working, so I muttered, "Wow, either everyone is being really rude or my phone isn't working," and then hung up and redialed.
I"m now not actually sure whether my phone was working when I said that. 😒
