Also good to know: If you ran out of backup storage for Restic, and you are not able to extend your storage, you'll get in trouble.

Usually you would try to shrink your backups by letting Restic forget (and prune!) older backups, but actually this will lead to even more storage consumption (temporarily).

Restic will need even more storage to re-write data packs and shrinking your backups will fail.

Never let your backup disks run full.
