@jaltek If i remember correctly @angristan once did a performance comparison and as far as I remember Restic was faster.

Does it ask for media to be inserted if the backup has to be written to it?

@alsternerd no, it doesn't. You always have to specify the backup repository path. It's just a command line tool... not really user friendly for "normal" users.

@thomas That's the feature I really like about deja-dup, it's the feature why I'm not missing out making backups and a good one for cold backups, too. :)

@Earthnuker Borg nutze ich immer noch für meine Server. Aber klick doch mal auf meinen ersten Beitrag - da habe ich im Gesprächsverlauf schon erklärt, wieso ich Restic ausprobieren.

@thomas ich nutze restic sowohl um meine Desktops (Linux und Windows) als auch meine Server zu sicher. bis her ohne Probleme. (auch beim Recovery 😁)
@ReinerStahl @thomas I have been using restic on my Linux laptop and server, as well on my Windows servers without issue. And when my laptop died I was able to restore to another machine quickly.
